Moodle is an open-source learning management system which allows staff to create online and blended learning and teaching environments for course delivery. Moodle is also used for assignment submission, mark assessment, student quizzes and much more.
UNSW Lecture Recordings+ is a service powered by Echo360 that supports learning and teaching in a range of teaching modes with tools that can be used by students before, during and after class. theBox is UNSW's online media management service, which allows you to manage and share audio/video/images and documents directly within Moodle and on other websites.
Turnitin is an originality checking service used to identify potential plagiarism by checking submissions against a wide range of databases and the web. It also has tools for paperless grading and markup as well as a peer review tool. Turnitin is integrated with Moodle.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is an upgraded version of Blackboard Collaborate; a virtual classroom system that allows for online interaction. Blackboard Collaborate Ultra has been incorporated into the Moodle learning management system.
Blackboard Ally is an additional service within Moodle which produces an accessibility score for each file you upload to your course. It automatically checks course materials against WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to your content accessibility.
VoiceThread is an activity that allows users to upload, share and discuss documents, presentations, images, audio files and videos. VoiceThread supports over 50 different types of media. Users can comment on VoiceThread slides using one of five commenting options: microphone, webcam, text, phone and audio-file upload. Additionally, you can draw or annotate the multimedia you have uploaded when leaving a typed, video or audio comment. Users can keep a VoiceThread private, share it with specific group of people, or open it to all.
